North-East coast of Mauritius

Quiet, green, breezier than the rest of the island — this coast catches the trade winds. Scenic and calm, with far fewer people than the north or east. Two Radisson properties here are consistently strong sellers.

Sell it to

Guests who value service, quiet and value-for-money over a postcard beach. Repeat visitors. Kitesurfers.

Pairs with

North Tour, Île aux Cerfs (reachable), Château de Labourdonnais.

Watch out

See the warning below. This is the single most common expectation gap on the island.

Artificial beaches — say this at the point of sale

Both Radisson properties in this area have artificial rather than natural beaches. Service and product quality are genuinely very good and guests are usually happy — but only if they were told. A guest who booked a “beach resort” and arrives to a man-made beach will complain, and they will be right to. Disclose it in the quote.
