Flights & entry

Direct connectivity from India, visas, documents and the airport.

Getting there

Direct connectivity from India

Mauritius is one of the easiest long-haul beach destinations to sell out of India: direct flights, visa on arrival, no vaccination requirements, and an airport that is genuinely pleasant to arrive into.

Entry requirements

Visa

On arrival, free of charge

Indian passport holders receive a visa on arrival at no cost. There is no pre-application and no fee to build into the costing.

Five mandatory documents

  • Passport valid 6+ months from entry, with at least two blank pages
  • Confirmed return or onward ticket
  • Proof of accommodation — the hotel vouchers you issue
  • Sufficient funds — approximately USD 50 per person per day
  • The All-in-One Travel Digital Form, within 72 hours before departure
The form is the one that gets missed

The all-in-one digital form goes out roughly 72 hours before travel. Tell the guest to complete it before boarding — not at immigration. It is the most common avoidable delay on arrival.

The airport

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) sits in the south-east of the island. Modern, small, easy. Currency exchange counters, SIM kiosks and transport are all available on arrival.

A tip worth giving every guest

Change money at the airport counter. Unlike most countries, Mauritius applies no taxes or service charges on airport exchange — it is the best rate on the island, not the worst.
